Clown work has been part of the actor's training since ancient times - evolving from Satyr plays of the Greeks, to Roman Comedy, Commedia Dellarte, to Elizabethan Fools and beyond.
Clown encourages actors to find their sense of joy in order to play free of social convention and censure. To challenge. To rebel. To be surprised. To find our beauty, our honesty and to fail in glorious ways.
Clown strengthens the imagination, our emotional honesty, the psycho-physical connection and our ability to see things as they could be, through solo and partnered exercises, physical forms and improvisational storytelling. It is a unique way for the artist to (re)discover their beauty and to be free within the craft of acting, both for film and for the stage.
