Kendra Anderson
Kendra Anderson graduated from the Canadian College of Performing Arts in 2007 having studied acting, singing and dancing. It was there that she had the honour of training with Speech and Monologue Instructor Dr. Iris MacGregor-Bannerman. Under Dr. MacGregor-Bannerman's guidance, Kendra discovered the magic of voice work and how, through voice work, deeper more meaningful character development is possible. A forever student, Kendra continued to hone her craft at Railtown Actors Studio, studying withKate Twa and John Cassini. Kendra has also worked with Speech-Language Pathologist Shelagh Davies who further fuelled her passion of vocal health and safety.
Holding a 500hr certification in Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga, Kendra also incorporates movement (asana) and breath work (pranayama) into her voice and movement classes. Through her own steady practice, Kendra has found that yoga invites the body to open, builds stronger connectivity to the breath, thus enabling each individual student to find the power of their own voice.
Kendra works as actress in film, television, voice-over and motion capture both in Vancouverand Toronto. She has gone on to share and teach Dr. Iris MacGregor-Bannerman’s vocalwarmups and methodology “Think, Breath, Speak” through workshops and intensives.
